About

Rigor mortis is one of the recognizable signs of death (Latin mors, mortis meaning “of death”) that is caused by a chemical change in the muscles after death, causing the limbs of the corpse to become stiff (Latin rigor) and difficult to move or manipulate. In humans it commences after about 3 hours, reaches maximum stiffness after 12 hours, and gradually dissipates until approximately 72 hours (3 days) after death.

Rigor Mortis Magazine is an online artist journal that is volunteer based and anyone can take part in.  Whether you want to write or create something, Rigor Mortis would be happy to display it online.

Starting in 2009 amongst University of Regina graduates in Saskatchewan, Canada, things have grown and moved to London, England but obviously with the internet we remain available to everyone.

Whether you type in www.jaredmercer.com or www.rigormortiszine.com or www.rigormortismagazine.com, all of the above will lead you to this site.  Beginning as a blog by founder Jared Mercer, the site has grown into an online community of artists to write, create, and/or review art from digital media to music and literary publications (or whatever really).  Rigor Mortis sprouted from jaredmercer.com as more people became involved in contributing work.  Our regular contributors each have their own page describing who they are and what they do.

If you are interested in posting something on this site you can contact us at deathwing@jaredmercer.com with anything that you have written or created and we will gladly share it online.  Rigor Mortis as a zine however is only available in London, UK but everything should be available on this website as well.

Feel free to leave comments on each post as they will all be responded to and definitely get involved.  The home page is where all the written articles can be found, but find the links to see the other sections such as photography, Yage Design music, Tommy Will Live videos, etc.  and all the other artistic creations.

Now go and frolic amongst the dewey meadows of our online creations my rabid little ferets.
